Kids Need a Teacher

Kids need a teacher who likes to teach
And likes each student in her care
A teacher who loves to instruct
A teacher who loves to share.

Kids need to see a friendly face
And feel a gentle spirit
They need to know that when they speak
Their teacher is going to hear it.

They need to see in a teacher's eyes
The love that she has for each one
And all of the others in her class
Every parent's daughter or son!

Kids need a teacher who laughs with ease
And who understands the need for fun
A teacher whose smiling face
Signals the day has begun.

Some search for this kind of teacher
Until their school years are through
But our kids were very fortunate
To find that teacher in you!

I Need a Teacher

I need a teacher who likes to teach
And likes each student in her care
A teacher who loves to instruct
A teacher who loves to share.

I need to see a friendly face
And feel a gentle spirit
I need to know that when I speak
My teacher is going to hear it.

I need to see in a teacher's eyes
The love that she has for me
And all of the others in her class
A love that is easy to see.

I need a teacher who laughs with ease
And who understands the need for fun
A teacher whose smiling face
Signals the day has begun.

Some search for this kind of teacher
Until their school years are through
But I was very fortunate
To find that teacher in you!

Pity the Poor Substitute

Pity the poor substitute
Who must take the place
Of a much loved teacher
And her students must face.

No matter what she does
She feels it is going to be wrong
Whether doing flashcards
Or leading in a song.

For the kids who love a teacher
Can see no one else at her desk
And won't relax and settle down
Except for the one they like the best!

Parents, Thank You For Your Trust

Thank you parents for trusting me
With your most valuable treasures
I know that the worth of each little one
Is something beyond all measure.

I do not take it lightly
That you entrust them to my care
And give you my word of honor
That your love for them I share.

I understand the concern you have
That your child be treated well each day
And your desire for their health and safety
Whether at their work or at their play.

Your child is safe here in my care
And I treasure their moments here
For I chose to be a guardian of these tiny souls
When I chose teaching as my career.

Prayer from a Teacher

Lord please give me compassion
And mix in bits of fun
With the ability to see bright skies
Even when there is no sun.

Fill me with hope Father
And please grant me creativity
And the love of being always
Busy as a bee.

Lord please make my heart big enough
For this all to fit inside
And Father grant me loving arms
That are always open wide.

Recipe for A Great Teacher

Take one big cup of compassion
And mix in bits of fun
With the ability to see bright skies
Even when there is no sun.

Add several dashes of hope
And bits of creativity
And the love of being
Busy as a bee.

Stir this all together
(And this is the most important part)
Mixture must be placed inside
One gigantic and loving heart!

God Bless the Teacher

And as I send my child to school each day
There is a little prayer I say:
"Lord, I ask that the teachers be kind
To this precious child of mine."

When there are duties that parents share
And I have reason to visit there
I have another little prayer:
"Lord, bless the teacher!"

"Oh, Lord", I've prayed as I watch you
"Give her the strength for all she must do
And give her wisdom straight from you....
Oh, Lord bless the teacher!"

I see how hard you work each day
To help children learn to work and play
I see your tender loving way....
And even more I stop and say:
"Lord, help the teacher!"

When your day is really tough
And you feel you've had enough
Just remember that there are those who care
And remember you in daily prayer....

Lord, Bless You Teacher!
