F is for Family

The Legacy

Our family had its ups and downs
Its stormy and cloudy days
But more often than the storms
Were the abundant sunny rays.
More often than tears that fell
When skies were dark and drear
Were the smiles that burst out
As soon as a loved one was near.
Ours was a loving family
With members picked by God above
To share our good times and our bad
With our legacy of love.
Our legacy began with each
As soon as we left the womb
To go home with our mom and dad
To our own special little room.
Our home was not a fancy place
No mansion did we share
But no matter what the time of day
Love was spoken there.

A Family is

Giggles, grins and a bit a teasing
Love and laughter and sometimes sneezing
Tears, jokes, hits and misses
Making up with siblings
And hugs and kisses!
Funy looks and making faces
Loving hearts and warm embraces...

A family is like a puzzle

A family is like a puzzle
That sometimes is hard to do
But suddenly inspiration comes
And a solution comes shinning through!

Some folks are hard to figure out
Just where they may fit in
They are the odd piece
Of your kith and kin!

But like a wonderful complicated puzzle
That when completed you want to frame
A family needs each individual member
Its complete picture to maintain!!

Family (Another Name for Love)

No matter how you say it
Family is a name for love
A unit created from the start
By the Father up above!

Families are special folks
That love you no matter what
But no family is as wonderful
As the great family I've got!

You are the best in every way
And I treasure each of you.
Here's a prayer for daily blessings
To follow everything you do!

Remember every moment
Through the days and years to come
That you are loved and treasured
Each and every one! -

2 Brothers and a sister

We are friends and siblings
Brothers and sister are we
Together, yet separate
One with each other-yet three.
We form our little universe
A union of brotherhood
Together we are united
But separate and equal
We also are good!
Off in our own little world
Each one loving the other
Able to work individually
But loving to be with one another.
We may be small right now
And in toddlerhood content
But this time learning to work together
Is certainly time well spent!

I'll Be There

Don't ever think a Mother
Will entirely leave you on your own
No matter where you go or what you do
You will never be alone.

On that first day of preschool
I watched until I knew
That someone there was ready
To take good care of you.

As you went off to kindergarten
And then grade school and such
I knew just where you were
And how to quickly get in touch.

In high school you were so grown up
And didn't need your parents near
But your dad and I knew what was going on
We kept open eyes and listening ears.

In college you were away from home
And thought you were on your own
And you made the moves to keep in touch
By little notes and by the telephone.

You thought that it was by your design
That you took such an active part
But long ago we planted these seeds of love
In your child size heart!

So look around you child of mine
And know that when our hands can't touch
And physically I'm not there
My love has gone before you
As I surround you dear child in prayer.
