Shadow

I love to watch the sunny sky
To see when my shadow might come by.
When the sun is shining back of me
My shadow in front of me I'll see.

My shadow is the shortest in the summer
When the sun is overhead
But I also see him by lamplight at night
When it's time to go to go bed.

I see shadows in the summer
And shadows in the fall
Shadows in the park at noon
Or at nighttime in the hall.

My shadow doesn't scare me
But is a friend that I enjoy
And my shadow seems to know
Whether I am a girl or boy.

My shadow keeps me company
When I am out to work or play
And doesn't seem to tire of me
Whether it's night or day.
