We are twins
It's plain to see
I see myself in you
Do you see yourself in me?

I will be the hands you need
For things you cannot reach.
I will be your teacher
For the things I'm able to teach.

You will teach me patience
And inner strength and compassion
And perhaps I shall teach you
Of humor, fun and fashion.

I love you as I love my self
And promise you to be
The part of your wonderful self
That you physically cannot be.

That God has given you
For I know inside this heart of mine
That He has blessed me too.

Triplets
I could never have imagined or understood
The magic and wonder of the experience
I'm now going through....
The miracle of waiting for the three of you.

I have placed your first portraits
In this little book
And when you are old enough
We will take a look.

I will take your little hands
And run it over the sonogram of you
And tell you that is what I used to do
When this first portrait was taken.

Then I will tell you how much we wanted you
And how excited we were when we heard
When we got the word
That the three of you were going to be born.

Then I will hold you in my arms one by one
And I will give you the kisses and hugs
That I cannot give you yet
But these precious waiting days I will never forget.

Until the day when my three little girls are born
I can only show my love by nurturing you in my womb
And keeping your tiny baby bodies safe and warm.
Praying that God keep you safe from harm.

God keep you safe near Mommy's heart
To rest and grow my precious little ones
For in God's timing you will appear
As our brand new daughters so precious and dear.

I had no idea
Of the blessing I was due
Of the precious bits of Heaven
In the tiny forms of you!

I had no idea of the miracles
God would send down to earth
I had no idea of the joy to unfold
With your precious dual birth.

I was not aware
Of all the joy I would feel
When I first saw two angels
And still can't believe you're real!

Today I sit and ponder
All the joy you've brought my way
But no matter how earnestly I try
There just are no words to say--

For how do you describe God-given love,
With beauty and innocence so rare?
How do you describe the fragrance
Of a tiny baby's hair?

How you describe the wonder
Of watching sweet babies each day
Learning, walking and talking
Spreading sunshine as they play?

I cannot find the words to say
Now will my pen expel
Adjectives of love strong enough
The love in my heart to tell.

Sleeping Twins

When God decided to send you to earth
To the two of you I gave birth.
And I knew from the moment
That I saw you together
You would best friends forever.

As newborns you cuddled up close to each other
As baby to baby and brother to brother.
You would not let us take you apart
It was as if you shared one little heart.
We watched as you grew and still in your bed
You slept toe to toe and cuddled head to head.

So sleep sweetly my little sons and dream all your dreams
Of toys, and puppies and candies and things
And I'll sit here dreaming of my hopes for you
For that's the thing that all mommies do!

I've loved you from the very start
With thoughts of you held in my heart.
I knew that you were meant to be
And would mean the world to me.


When I looked into your baby faces
And felt your sweet and gentle embraces
I knew how wonderful life could be
Caring for those God entrusted to me.


I pray that your lives be full
Of happiness and free from sorrow.
But even as much as I love you today
I will love you even more

My Favorite Playmate

My favorite playmate
And very best friend
Is always with me....
He's my twin!

I can't imagine
How awful it would be
If there weren't
A twin to me!

We play outside
And climb a tree
My best buddy
My twin and me!

I share my trucks
And share my cars
My pasta salad and candy bars!

It is so neat to know
That when day is done
My snuggly bed holds two of us
Instead of one!

When we were babies
We were so brand new
But now we are big boys
We are turning TWO!
