D is for Dad

A Dad is someone you can believe in
And trust with your fondest dreams
And scariest fears
You know that he will read you a bedtime story
And he will be there to wipe away your tears.
His arms are strong enough to hold you and your brother
And hold you at the same time
As well as to welcome your friends
With "any friend of yours is a friend of mine."
A dad remembers his siblings and what it was like
To grow and agree and to disagree
To hug and sometimes fuss and fight.
A Dad who loves pets welcomes those friends
And teaches kids to treat all God's creatures kindly
Also spreads his love and compassion
To all of those he calls family.
A Dad who welcomes our friends into his home
And treats them as if they were his own
Teaches us how to be a good friend
And that just because one adventure comes to an end
Doesn't mean that life will not be as good
And this kind of Dad encourages us to do the things we should.
I know these things for sure are true
Because, Dad, I've seen this every day in You!

A Father's Love (baby son)

A father's love is special
And his tenderness unique
He holds in his arms a gift so rare
That he can scarcely speak.

When time moves on so fast
And this little one has grown
He will treasure in his heart
The love that he was shown.

So whisper sweet loving things to him
And love him every day
And when he is a grown up young man
In his heart that love will stay.

God bless fathers that love their babies
And hold them close to them
For the love that flows from a daddy's heart
Can only come from Him!

I Love Day's End!

I love the end of the day
No matter how much fun
I have had at my play
For that is when Daddy gets home!

I love the time just before night
Though some folks fret and fume
For I know my world is all right
When My Daddy enters the room!

I run to hug him and then
He puts his face right next to mine
And I hug him and kiss him again
Oh, it is the most wonderful time!

I love my daddy so much
I love his voice and his touch
And no matter how old I get to be
He will a hero to me!!

For My Dad-My Rock

Daddy, I wanted to give you something
Something special, just from me
Something very special
So that my love you would see.

I wanted to show you how your life
And the way you live each day
Helped to shape the person that I am
In a very special way.

I've seen the loving way
You treat those around you
And the way you bask in
The love that will always surround you.

I love the way you share your faith
The way you walk the walk of faith as well
And you are the measuring stick
By which others' integrity I can tell.

I love you so very much
And admire you tremendously
And I will always be there for you
Just as you have always been there for me.

This year has brought a troublesome time
A problem for us to deal with together
But we are a family strong and true
In fair skies or stormy weather.

And we will get through this time
And come out stronger when we do
Because we are a family who trusts in God
And He will see us through.

Thena
